Listen to this voice!!!!

This is of Keri at her Veterans Concert. She is the second one to sing.

Keri's voice just melted my heart.... It just about made her dad cry. I am so proud of her. I have to say she was the best out of them all, and I don't just say that cause she is my daughter.

Halloween

After 1 1/2 months of trying to get Nathan to wear his costume I finally succeed. I finally got him to wear it by bribing him. I told him he could go outside and play on the trampoline if he put his lion jacket on because it was so cold outside.

Here is Nathan as a sad lion!!!!

And Nathan as a Happy Lion!

And here is our Lady Gwenhyfar. Keri is one pretty girl.

The last 2 months of Info....

Okay I know I have not blogged in awhile so here is the low done of the last couple of months.

We ended the summer of camping with nothing but headaches. We bought our camper brand new in May of 2007. Let me start by saying that the camper was a lemon!!!! We had every problem with the camper that you can name. I finally got sick of the problems and told Terrytown RV that I did not want it any more and that I wanted my money back. So to make a long story short...we have another NEW camper.

Keri started school and is in 6th grade. She is going through the "I don't want to do my homework" mood. If you parents have any ideas about helping them through this let me know.

Now that we are home every weekend there are many projects to work on. The big project that we are tackling right now is tearing down a wall in our living room that will open it up to the kitchen and the stairway. I have to say I feel blessed that I have a husband that is willing to take on a project like this. So needless to say my house is in an uproar and everything is covered in drywall dust. Gotta Love it!

And finally it is getting cold outside, YUCK! Last year was a rough year for Nathan. He had RSV and 3 rounds of severe pneumonia. He has already started the cough. I brought him to the doctors yesterday and they do here fluid in the lower lungs. The doctor put him back on the pulmacort and albuteral for the winter. If his cough does not go away with in the week she wants to see him back in the office. Here we go, I might as well make a weekly appointment with the doctors office.

I will leave you with a pic that my sister-in-law took. It is extremely hard to get a good pick with a 17 month old.

It's Official

August 15th, 2007 - Keri is officially our daughter!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long road with many up's and down's but with the love of our family and the hand of our wonderful God it is done.

Judge Buck was a wonderful judge through the entire process and I feel blessed having him. The court room was filled with many people, both grandparents and David's brother and sister-in-law where also there. The judge even asked them how they felt about Keri before he made the adoption official. Needless to say there was not a dry eye in the room.

After court we all went to Applebee's for a wonderful lunch and Keri received wonderful gifts.

After lunch we made our way to Super Walmart to keep a promise that we made to Keri. We had to get rid of our cats this past week and we told Keri that she could get a fish once they where gone. So off we went to the fish department. Keri fell in love with 2 different kinds of fish and we brought them home. I will post pics of them soon.

Anyway the day was wonderful and will be celebrated every year as the birthday of our daughter.

I was to busy and confused to take pics this day. But I have to give many thanks to my sister-in-law for the pics. Brenda you are the greatest, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post some of the pics once I get them from her.

I just want to thank God for everything!!!! This little girl has blessed us and helped us grow in many different ways. It is completely wonderful to know that we have God the loves us!!!!

Pampering myself!!!!!!

This Friday the 8th is my 30th b-day and I am going to pamper myself with a gift that my husband gave me for our 10 year anniversary. I have a 10 am appointment for a 1 hour massage and then a pedicure/manicure. I am kinda nervous being that I have never had a massage before... I will post later and let you know the outcome. Oh and I don't have to work that day BONUS!!!!!

Keri

Keri has been keeping us on our toes lately. She has softball 2 nights a week and we love to watch her. Hope to post some pick of her playing soon. Can you believe there is only 2 more days of school. I don't know who is more excited her or me!!!! The idea of not have to get her up in the morning at 5:30 to get ready for school is got me overwhelmed with joy. I am sure she will enjoy sleeping in also.

CARDS....

Nathan was caught red handed getting into a deck of cards... He was so cute playing with them. All of a sudden he realized I saw him and thought it was funny. I found him playing with them in the corner of the kitchen that is kinda hidden, like he knew he was being naughty!!!!

Nathan's B-day

This Saturday marks Nathan's 1st Birthday. I am so happy that the weather looks like it is going to be nice. We will be
celebrating his birthday with family on Saturday. I will post birthday pics as soon as I can. It is hard to believe that my little peanut is 1. I am going to cry.

A day in the life of the Hondorp's

Where do I being!! The last couple of days have been a trial. Nathan has the flu and took him to the doctor and they are concerned that he might have more than just infant reflux. Nathan has been sick non stop and now won't take anything other than a bottle. They are going to run some tests on him with in the next couple of weeks. SPRING!!!!! It is here. Keri and David both have started softball practices yesterday. This now starts a busy spring. Keri has games/practice 2 nights a week and then David plays on Thursday's. I love to go and watch them both.

Where Have I Been!!!!

Let me just start off by saying "Thanks" to Brenda for text messaging me at 10:00 at night!!!!

Okay I now I have been missing for the last month or so, but I have a good reason. I have been busy planning Keri's birthday party which was a great success. That same weekend I had a girls weekend away at a church retreat. Then that takes me to the past week. Where do I being! Nathan, my poor little guy, has a bad cold once again. On top of the cold he is teething. So needless to say he has not been sleeping well and therefore I have not either. He is starting to get better thank goodness.

Anyways I will try to post again today and add some recent pics of Keri's B-day and of Nathan.

Amazing Grace

Finally, something worth taking the family to see!

Amazing Grace, based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce, is directed by Michael Apted (The World is Not Enough, Coal Miner's Daughter) from an original screenplay written by Academy Award® nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things).

Elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21, and on his way to a successful political career, Wilberforce, over the course of two decades, took on the English establishment and persuaded those in power to end the inhumane trade of slavery...

(the video on my blog, to the right, is from this movie)

10 Wonderful Months

Nathan turned 10 months old this week and now thinks he is a big boy. We had his big boy car seat in the house this week and he loved to play in it and show us how big he is. I love to watch him grow and explore. Before I know it he will be celebrating his 1st birthday......

Court Update

The next critical date for court has come. Monday Feb. 26th. This is the trial that should terminate mom's rights and allow us to adopt her. D'Anne (Keri's mom) has agreed to sign the termination paperwork and supposedly sent it in on Friday the 16th. Please pray that everything goes good on Monday and also pray that Keri accepts the adoption and understands what it means.

Baths

Who is the naughty little boy that has decided he wants to stand in the bath? Hmmmm.....Nathan!! The last couple of times bath time has not been fun. Nathan gets so furious with us when we won't let him stand. So needless to say bath time is now in and out.

Kayla Update

First off I want to say thank you to all of you who are praying for Kayla.

I tried to call Kayla this morning and was told by her mom that things are not going good. Kayla is having a very hard time with the depression, ADD, and being confined to a very small room. Still no seizures, which is amazing, she would usually have at least 1 every day. They have taken her off all meds and maybe that has to do with the seizures. Anyway she does not like being there and wants to go home. The doctors will not give her a release date until they feel they have all the information they need. I will update later........

Kayla Update

Just talked to Kayla and she has not had a seizure yet. She is struggling with being in the hospital and very depressed. She will have to remain in the hospital until the doctors have seen her go through a certain number of seizures so they can gather enough information. Please continue to pray that Kayla's attitude and patience during this process improves. Thank you to all of you out there that are praying for her. God can work in miraculous ways and we should never under estimated the power of pray and healing.
