He's the Lucky One!!

What a week!!! On August 15, 2008 a good friend from our old church, Wayfarer, passed away. Tim has left behind a wife and 4 kids.

Wednesday was the funeral and it was one of the best I have ever attended. The funeral lasted about 1 hr & 45 min. His brothers, sister and parents all spoke and shared many stories of Tim.

Please keep Becky, Haley (10), Cassie (8), Lanie (5) and Jediah (3) in your prayers.

All I have to say through all of this is we serve an amazing GOD!!!!
WE WILL MISS YOU TIM!

Craigslist Bidding Wars!!!!

OH MY WORD!!!! These are the only words that can come out of my mouth right now. David & I have been throwing around the idea of selling our sectional couch. We bought this couch 11 years ago for $100.00 from a family friend. This couch is a 5 piece Thomasville sectional. I just for giggles put it on Craigslist yesterday and within 1 hour I had 8 people want to come and look at it. Last night I took a picture and email these people back and to my surprise everybody wants it. As of this morning I have 3 people that keep trying to out bidded each other. I listed it as $150.00 and I am up to $250.00. The first guy is coming at 2:30 today, keep my fingers crossed that it sells!!!!!

Changes

Many changes have taken place in the Hondorp household.

1. New Flooring in the entire house....
Which all I can say has been a nightmare! After ordering the flooring it took 3 weeks for them to come an install the laminent flooring in my kitchen, laundry, dining room and both entry's. Then 1 more week for them to install the carpet in all the bedrooms and the living room! I love the carpet and the wood floor, BUT!!!! the laminent has to be torn up and replaced since the first installer did not install properly! Enough on the floors!

2. Nathan in a BIG boy bed!
Since we took down the crib for the carpet install, David & I decided that it was time to put Nathan in a big boy bed!!! He loves it!

3. Finished the Swing Set

4. Had a fence installed in the back yard

5. Opened up the camper for the season
Now that spring is here you know where to find us every weekend!

6. And the biggest change!!!! Nathan turned 2!!!!!

I will try to post pics of all the changes soon!

Helping Daddy

We are doing some remodel in our laundry/half bath and Nathan decided we wanted to help Daddy last night.

Poor Nathan

Not a good month!!! A couple of weeks ago we went down to Shipsee with David's brother and family for a long weekend of fun. Friday night was a blast. Saturday came around and it went down hill from there. Nathan woke up and felt a little warm so I gave him some ibuprofen that Brenda had brought along. All day he was just not himself, the coughing started, the whining was in full gear and he just was irritable. By 6:00 it turned bad! We were swimming in the pool and Nathan was shivering so bad, but his body temp was high. I brought him back to the room and gave him some more ibuprofen to help bring the fever down. I knew deep down inside that his pneumonia was coming back. I needed his breathing machine and medicine which was at home. So I called my parents and God Bless them they drove all the way down to us and brought it for him. They finally arrived at the hotel around 8:30 and he was very warm and coughing alot. We gave him the treatment, which makes him cough even more since it breaks it all up, and then my parents where leaving to go back home. As Nathan was watching them get there coats on he decided that he wanted to go with Papa and Nana. So my parents took him home so we could finish the weekend with Keri! I am so glad to have parents like that. Well to make a already long story short, he cried all the way home, all night, and all morning until we got there. Ended up bringing him into the ER since we could not control the fever, he had strep throat along with pneumonia. So on Monday I had to bring him in for a follow up and the doctor said that we was all clear EXCEPT that now he has an ear infection.... This poor kid! But as of today he is doing much better.

Church Transfer!!!!

On Sunday we were acknowledge at church for our transfer back to Corinth. Of course we all had to go up on stage in front of the congregation.

My worst nightmare happened. Nathan screamed the entire time!! Here is how it went... We had just finished singing and the bulletin said that they where going to play a video testimony and so I thought to keep him quiet I would give him some smarties. BAD CHOICE!!!!!!

Nathan did not want to eat them out of my hand, he wanted me to put them on the chair next to me. Guess what, they did not play the video! Pastor Don starts calling off the people to come up on stage. I went into panic mode!!!!! I started picking up Nathan and thought I better grab the smarties off the seat otherwise he would loose it. On the walk up the stairs I showed Nathan I had them in my hand so he would calm down, but that did not work. He managed to shove all that I had in my hand into his mouth and had dropped a couple along the way. After realizing that he dropped them he screamed because he wanted them!!!!

At this moment my face was on fire and I just wanted to hide under a rock. I thought about just letting him down but I was afraid that he would run down the stairs and back to where we were sitting.

All in all it went very well and we are very happy to be back at Corinth.

Sledding

Sledding at Grandpa and Grandma's is so much fun.

As a kid I loved to go down the huge hill in the back yard but hated coming back up.

David and I took the kids to my parents to enjoy the snow. David, being an awesome dad spent the entire time outside with Keri and Nathan. I went down once, but it was too cold for me (ya ya, I know I am a wimp!!!!).

This was Nathan's first time sliding and he loved it. He would have loved to stay out longer but with it being so cold I was worried about him, so he came in earlier then everybody else. David was glad, Nathan got heavy to keep pulling up the hill on the sled.

Maybe one of these years I can get my dad to rig up some kind of pulley system to pull us up the hill!!!!!!!! Wishful thinking.

Odds & Ends

Here is some miscellanous photos of the kids!!!!!
Keri on Christmas day, Nathan posing on grandma's stool,
Keri all dressed up for her Christmas program at school, Nathan trying to be like grandpa and shave,
and finally Nathan trying to fill his daddy's shoes.

Halloween

After 1 1/2 months of trying to get Nathan to wear his costume I finally succeed. I finally got him to wear it by bribing him. I told him he could go outside and play on the trampoline if he put his lion jacket on because it was so cold outside.

Here is Nathan as a sad lion!!!!

And Nathan as a Happy Lion!

And here is our Lady Gwenhyfar. Keri is one pretty girl.

The last 2 months of Info....

Okay I know I have not blogged in awhile so here is the low done of the last couple of months.

We ended the summer of camping with nothing but headaches. We bought our camper brand new in May of 2007. Let me start by saying that the camper was a lemon!!!! We had every problem with the camper that you can name. I finally got sick of the problems and told Terrytown RV that I did not want it any more and that I wanted my money back. So to make a long story short...we have another NEW camper.

Keri started school and is in 6th grade. She is going through the "I don't want to do my homework" mood. If you parents have any ideas about helping them through this let me know.

Now that we are home every weekend there are many projects to work on. The big project that we are tackling right now is tearing down a wall in our living room that will open it up to the kitchen and the stairway. I have to say I feel blessed that I have a husband that is willing to take on a project like this. So needless to say my house is in an uproar and everything is covered in drywall dust. Gotta Love it!

And finally it is getting cold outside, YUCK! Last year was a rough year for Nathan. He had RSV and 3 rounds of severe pneumonia. He has already started the cough. I brought him to the doctors yesterday and they do here fluid in the lower lungs. The doctor put him back on the pulmacort and albuteral for the winter. If his cough does not go away with in the week she wants to see him back in the office. Here we go, I might as well make a weekly appointment with the doctors office.

I will leave you with a pic that my sister-in-law took. It is extremely hard to get a good pick with a 17 month old.

It's Official

August 15th, 2007 - Keri is officially our daughter!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long road with many up's and down's but with the love of our family and the hand of our wonderful God it is done.

Judge Buck was a wonderful judge through the entire process and I feel blessed having him. The court room was filled with many people, both grandparents and David's brother and sister-in-law where also there. The judge even asked them how they felt about Keri before he made the adoption official. Needless to say there was not a dry eye in the room.

After court we all went to Applebee's for a wonderful lunch and Keri received wonderful gifts.

After lunch we made our way to Super Walmart to keep a promise that we made to Keri. We had to get rid of our cats this past week and we told Keri that she could get a fish once they where gone. So off we went to the fish department. Keri fell in love with 2 different kinds of fish and we brought them home. I will post pics of them soon.

Anyway the day was wonderful and will be celebrated every year as the birthday of our daughter.

I was to busy and confused to take pics this day. But I have to give many thanks to my sister-in-law for the pics. Brenda you are the greatest, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post some of the pics once I get them from her.

I just want to thank God for everything!!!! This little girl has blessed us and helped us grow in many different ways. It is completely wonderful to know that we have God the loves us!!!!

Pampering myself!!!!!!

This Friday the 8th is my 30th b-day and I am going to pamper myself with a gift that my husband gave me for our 10 year anniversary. I have a 10 am appointment for a 1 hour massage and then a pedicure/manicure. I am kinda nervous being that I have never had a massage before... I will post later and let you know the outcome. Oh and I don't have to work that day BONUS!!!!!

Keri

Keri has been keeping us on our toes lately. She has softball 2 nights a week and we love to watch her. Hope to post some pick of her playing soon. Can you believe there is only 2 more days of school. I don't know who is more excited her or me!!!! The idea of not have to get her up in the morning at 5:30 to get ready for school is got me overwhelmed with joy. I am sure she will enjoy sleeping in also.
